A Mulligan & Mumford Monologue
Carey Mulligan hosted Saturday Night Live for her first time this weekend. But her husband, Marcus Mumford of the band Mumford & Sons, has been musical guest three times already. So when she was doing her monologue, she just happened to mention that fact. And it seems like the combination of mentioning Marcus Mumford having done something three times activated some Beetlejuice-esque magic effect, because lo-and-behold Marcus Mumford appeared!
He was supposed to be at home, watching the kids. But instead he’s stalking his wife at work (again, something Beetlejuice would probably do). And like Mumford didn’t know that Kid Cudi was the musical guest! Please. Find a hobby Marcus, or maybe take care of your kids – and not just the “& Sons” part of your band!

Return of the Chalamet/Davidson Friendship
Pete Davidson and Chris Redd – together known for their parody rap videos – teamed up with musical guest Kid Cudi for another video. It slams, and has a legit fire flute hook. Because that’s what it’s about – flute hooks.
And the best part? Timothée Chalamet shows up. Remember when he hosted, and him and Pete Davidson were the best pairing since a white-and-black striped suit and Beetlej–hold on, never mind that actually. But Davidson and Chalamet were great together. Knowing their friendship continues to permeate pop culture is a delightful gift for a Saturday evening.
There’s no denying that there’s a lot of magic going on in that song. Between the usual Davidson/Redd collaboration, plus the Kid Cudi influence, plus the Timothée Chalamet bromance, “Weird Little Flute” is destined for the Top 40. If only…
