Survivor: Ghost Island Scoop – Week 8 Recap: Winners, Losers, Top Moments
John Powell – GobalTV.com
Michael Yerger has Ozzy Lusth to thank. Ozzy’s Survivor prank has become Michael’s lifeline on Survivor: Ghost Island.
On Survivor: Micronesia — Fans vs. Favorites, Ozzy was sent to Exile Island and found a hidden immunity idol. To mess with the other players Ozzy put his very limited arts and crafts skills to work creating one of the worst looking fake idols in Survivor history. Essentially, he picked up a stick and carved a face on it making it look like South Park’s Mr. Hankey. He then gift-wrapped it for an unsuspecting player.

That player was Jason Siska. Jason found the “idol” and gave it to Eliza Orlins in the hopes of saving her at Tribal Council. Eliza immediately recognized the fraud for what it is.
“It’s a f—–g stick,” she cried devastated she put all of her Survivor hopes in Jason and his Mr. Hankey idol.
That hysterical and infamous Survivor curse has officially been reversed. The lowly stick became a full-fledged immunity idol negating all votes against Michael Yerger at Tribal Council last night and sending Libby Vincek to the jury.
Who knew that Ozzy’s practical joke 11 years ago would be the saving grace of the youngest Survivor contestant to ever play the game?

Week 8: Game Fail – Libby Vincek
Angela Perkin’s observation was right on the money. When you have a target on you in the game of Survivor it is very hard to shake it. Since the second tribal swap Libby was seen as distrustful and too charming. It is a label she just could never ditch and it followed her all the way to the merger as she has been on everyone’s hit list for a very long time.
Strategic Gameplay
Libby started out playing a very shrewd game but things fell apart very quickly. Once she lost what influence she had she began to spiral to the point that she was throwing up her hands in front of everyone wondering what she was doing wrong.
Rating: 2 / 5
Social Gameplay
There is no doubt she got along well with the men as well as the women. Her social game wasn’t strong enough though to deflect any of feelings of wariness the others had.
Rating: 2.5 / 5
Entertainment Value
Libby never really blossomed as a personality or a player on the show. As viewers we only got brief glimpses of her gameplay and know next to nothing about her as a person. She was mostly there in the background and remained that way for the majority of the season.
Rating: 2 / 5
Final Castaway Rating: 6.5 / 15
Week 8 : Powell’s Picks
Who played it cool and who proved themselves to be a fool? Every week John Powell makes his picks for the worst and best players of the week.
Bronze Amateur: Donathan Hurley
The likable caretaker is pushing hard and not being too very discrete about it. He is drawing far too much attention to himself.
Silver Amateur: Wendell Holland
He is pushing himself into forefront, perhaps a little too much. This could really hurt his chances going forward. Dom has the right idea about pulling back a bit.
Gold Amateur: Libby Vincek
She could never reconstruct her damaged reputation in the game.
Bronze MVP: The Gross Food Challenge
I miss the days that it was part of every single season. Good times.
Silver MVP: Laurel Johnson
She is positioning herself nicely and just might take the place of one of the Navitis in the final push.
Gold MVP: Michael Yerger and Angela Perkins
Angela dominated the challenge and we loved her mindgames back at camp. Micheal is still making all the right moves and continues to survive.
