Survivor: David vs. Goliath Scoop – Week 7 Recap: Winners, Losers, Top Moments
John Powell – GlobalTV.com
I will give the Goliaths this much, in the end they stuck to the plan. After the alliance debated between voting out Christian Hubicki and Elizabeth Olson then Mike White, Alison Raybould and Alec Merlino all went rogue courting members of the David Alliance and then a spurned Angelina Keeley gave Elizabeth a heads-up about the up-coming vote, the Goliaths all got back on the same page making Elizabeth the first member of Survivor: David vs. Goliath‘s jury.
Whew! Thank goodness we Survivor fans have patience.
The Goliaths are a fractured bunch with many of them overthinking their games and letting their egos get the better of them. Case in point, Angelina may have been ticked off that the Goliath vote was changed without her consent but blabbing the plan to Elizabeth wasn’t a smart thing to do. Whether Angelina’s motives were to assist her pal Elizabeth, screw up the Goliaths or perhaps a little bit of both, all that ended up happening was Elizabeth used the situation against her.

Mike, Alison and Alec are just as bad though. If they truly want to eventually flip on the Goliaths, all they need to do is make sure Nick is the last David left in the game, plus anyone else they can bring over would be a bonus. There is no need for any of them to reach out to or place any trust in the Davids except for Nick. Mike, Alison and Alec are overplaying their hands when there is absolutely no need to do so.
What remains to be seen is if after that tumultuous Tribal Council is whether the deal Mike, Alison and Alec had with the Davids even stands any more as Gabby Pascuzzi and others were very quick to throw Angelina under the bus. Can they really be trusted after that? Stay tuned.

Week 7: Game Fail – Elizabeth Olson
The fifth original David to be voted out of the game, Elizabeth played a very emotional game. She couldn’t bite her tongue which is perhaps why others weren’t really drawn to her. Over and over we heard how Elizabeth was a loner and didn’t have any strong bonds. It is that fatal flaw which ended her dream of winning the million dollars.
Strategic Gameplay
When she had a shot she took it. She was the one who warned the others about Jessica Peet’s connections convincing them to vote her out of the game. At Vuku, Elizabeth was the first to run out to try and find a Hidden Immunity Idol even though Davie Rickenbacker already had it in his pocket. She was willing to win by any means possible including using Angelina’s warning against her.
Rating: 3.5 / 5
Social Gameplay
Elizabeth’s biggest downfall was her social game. She didn’t seem to develop any strong relationships pushing away several people including both Carl Boudreaux and Davie.
Rating: 2 / 5
Entertainment Value
Right from the start Elizabeth gave the impression she had the right stuff to go far in the game. Once she began to interact with the other players though it was clear she wouldn’t last long. She was just too open, just too emotive to play a very sensitive game in which the wrong word at the wrong time can implode your entire game.
Rating: 3 / 5
Final Castaway Rating: 8.5 / 15
Week 7: Powell’s Picks
Who played it cool and who proved themselves to be a fool? Every week John Powell makes his picks for the worst and best players of the week.
Bronze Amateur: Gabby Pascuzzi
She makes a cross-alliance deal and then tries hard to sink the Goliaths at Tribal Council? That had to have damaged her stock in the game.
Silver Amateur: Angelina Keeley
She was ticked off, she made an emotional move and it is already having a devastating effect on her game.
Gold Amateur: Elizabeth Olson
She should have made stronger ties and bit her lip more.
Bronze MVP: Carl Boudreaux
He started the ball rolling and got Elizabeth booted.
Silver MVP: Nick Wilson
No matter which direction the wind blows it always helps Nick. At this stage of the game he has several points of protection.
Gold MVP: Mike, Alison and Alec
They may be making an unnecessary deal with the Davids but they could be in a position to run the game any which way they want to as long as they stick together.
