Late Show: The Neighborhood’s Beth Behrs Knows How to Do a Sitcom
The Neighborhood‘s Beth Behrs join Stephen Colbert on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk landing multiple sitcoms and making that transition from sitcom city twenty-something to sitcom suburban mom.
Beth Behrs of The Neighborhood is already a sitcom master, having starred in the wildly successful 2 Broke Girls and now starring in The Neighborhood. Not even finished its first season, CBS renewed The Neighborhood for a second. And that’s a promising thing for a new series!
But how did she get to be such a success in the sitcom world? And what does it mean about Stephen, who constantly auditioned to no avail (so he had to create his own sitcom to star in, Strangers With Candy). Well, it just means she knows the ins-and-outs of the sitcom world.
So she knows a thing or two about he sitcom world, despite coming from a strong theatre background. But you know, those two worlds collide a lot more than you’d think. Just look at John Lithgow and Neal Patrick Harris!
Behrs got her first major start in 2 Broke Girls as Caroline Channing, an absent-minded go-getter city girl. Now, she’s an on-the-ball suburban mom in The Neighborhood. A change of pace, to say the least, but Behrs is all for the experience – and is hoping it teacher he a thing or two about real motherhood, should the opportunity arise.
