Natasha Lyonne is an SNL Lady
Natasha Lyonne is a through-and-through New Yorker, to the point of everything that she is, is New York. And that includes NYC’s best comedy institution, Saturday Night Live. It’s everything a New Yorker born in the late 1970s gets nostalgic over – for better or worse. Because if you know anything about either SNL or New York in 1980s, it’s typically worse.
She really does give off a 1980s New York vibe. Get her in a contest with Julian Casablancas and Pete Davidson for “Most New York Person Decades Too Late.”

Goodbye to Good Friends
Speaking of Pete Davidson, this season finale was his last episode as a cast member – among three others!
Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant and Kyle Mooney all have decided to not return for season 48. This is huge, as cast changes have been minimal in the past half-decade or so. A few fine folks have left, and more have come on to create the largest cast SNL has ever had.
They’ll be fine, though. Kyle Mooney and Aidy Bryant have broken into their own niche in the mainstream – Kyle more so niche with his acclaimed but unusual film Brigsby Bear and completely off-the-wall series Saturday Morning All Star Hits, and Aidy Bryant is all set after riding the wave of her much beloved Shrill. You can probably keep up with Pete Davidson in the tabloids, as he’s seemed to fully embrace that world. And Kate McKinnon? A talent like hers doesn’t just fade away.
Say goodbye to her in this appropriate send off of her classic alien abductee recurring character:
And Saturday Night Live will be fine too. Watch for its return in October!
