Rubina thinks her final three was better
Rubina thinks her final three was better
She may have not won the game but she did find love. Rubina Bernabe was cut from competing in the Big Brother finale by veto winner Makensy on the live eviction show last night. Although she is no longer in the running for the grand prize Rubina is thrilled with her Big Brother experience.
John Powell: Are you surprised that Makensy took Cam over you?
Rubina Bernabe: I am a little surprised that Makensy picked Cam over me only because I really thought that seeing a women’s final three would have been a bigger and better final three but she stayed loyal to her actual final three so I cannot be mad about that.
John Powell: What was it like to find a relationship in the Big Brother house and where do you want your relationship with Tucker to go after the series is over?
Rubina Bernabe: Finding a relationship in the Big Brother house was absolutely not on my radar at all. I did not anticipate that happening to me. I’m four years strong of being single. I thought that’ll never be me. I think it’s because I said that, that it happened.
I will say that I am, of course, grateful to have connected with anyone on that level inside a game, especially since I didn’t expect it. As far as our relationship goes outside of the house, I actually do hope that we continue growing and learning about each other, maybe even going on a REAL date. (laughs) That would be nice.
We live on different coasts but maybe we can make it work. I love New York! I think he likes L.A. And you know what’s great about L.A.? I’m in L.A.!
John Powell: You mentioned many times that winning the money for you and your family wasn’t as important as your higher purpose for being on the show. Can you explain what you meant by that and was that notion incorporated into a strategy?
Rubina Bernabe: I mentioned that winning the money wasn’t as important as the higher purpose behind me being on the show because…You know what? That money is going to come to me either way but me representing other Filipinas in the world who maybe didn’t grow up seeing themselves on TV at all, much less a reality show like this, is going to be worth its weight in gold! I know my younger self could have used it. So, I’m hoping there’s other little girls out there like me who are inspired and motivated to do something that maybe they don’t think they could do just by seeing me up there doing this.
The two-hour Big Brother season finale airs this Sunday, Oct. 13th at 9:00-11:00pm ET/PT.
