Spring Forward into SNL
Saturday Night Live has been on a brief hiatus since the end of last month. It’s understandable, I mean, who wants to leave their home during winter to go to work anyways? But now that it’s springtime, they’re back and ready to hit the ground running on the third leg of season 46!
Maya Rudolph is your host this weekend, and it’s about time! She’s hosted once before. But more recently over the past two years she’s made plenty of cameos as Vice President Kamala Harris. And in case you’re unaware, she was a cast member for seven years. Here’s one of her classic sketches from that era:
She was on the show from 2000 to 2007, and was cast mates with the likes of Andy Samberg, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Will Ferrell, and all the greats from the 2000s – one of the best eras for Saturday Night Live!
It will be a thrill seeing her in sketches throughout the show again! She’s done a couple here and there over the past while. Most notably, as Aunt Jemima in the Dave Chapelle episode from earlier this season.
It will be good to have Maya Rudolph back, and it will be great to have Saturday Night Live back with new episodes! Don’t miss out this weekend – it’s been a return-to-form season so far, with more of a focus on classic sketches. And who better to facilitate that than Maya Rudolph?
Saturday Night Live can be streamed live and On Demand on the new Global TV App and on STACKTV. Global is also available through all major TV service providers.
