It is no big deal if you are going to lie on Survivor. Everybody does it even if they are just deceiving others about who they are voting for at Tribal Council. If you are going to lie though just make sure you don’t get caught. Cover your bases and make sure that nothing can be traced back to you and if for some reason it does make sure you have a back-up plan, an escape hatch.

Brandon “Brando” Meyer may know how to evolve his Pokemon and what advantage each type has over the others in that advanced game of Rock, Paper, Scissors but what Brando doesn’t do well is cover up his lies. In the outside world, being a person who doesn’t deceive others often is a good thing but in the game of Survivor, well, being able to lie well is as essential as being able to read other people.

Brandon’s lie was fact-checked and it blew up in his face. If you are going to pin something on someone else it is best to work it so when things bounce back you have the advantage of a more believable explanation, deflection or, you have a higher trust level with the person questioning you. If you don’t, find a better way out of your predicament.

Kaleb The Canadian continues to prove his worth to Lulu. He won his team immunity, he has worked his way into the new Lulu well especially when it comes to bonding with Kellie and next week we see Bruce pulling him even closer, even further into an alliance. He may not be Batman but he very well might be a member of Alpha Flight. I think he would make a decent Guardian.

It looks like next week will feature a merger of some sort. Is it a real merger or are the tribes just living on the same beach as has been done before? I have a sneaky suspicion that it isn’t a genuine merger and the tribes will still be playing separate games for a bit longer. It also could be the tribes, players have to earn their place in the merger. Whichever the case it just doesn’t feel like it is time for a real merger when they have just switched up the tribes. It just doesn’t feel right. To merge or not to merge? Stay tuned, folks.

You would think that based on her odd behaviour all Brando would have to do to survive another day is throw Kendra under the bus, fake an idol, do something, anything other than trying to pin an irrational lie on Drew.

Strategic Gameplay

Tonight’s episode was Brando’s time to shine and he missed the mark with his scheme.

Besides tonight’s episode we really didn’t get to see very much of Brando except how he made it through the Sweat and Savvy challenge and how he and Kendra were frustrated with Katurah’s preoccupation with bringing Bruce down. Sadly, he just didn’t have much of a story, journey.

Who played it cool and who proved themselves to be a fool? Every week John Powell makes his picks for the worst and best players of the week.

She might have damaged her alliance with Drew and Austin by questioning the trust they have between them. Will it cause any long-term damage? That remains to be seen.

Sifu continues to flounder. Making such a big deal about the vote instead of sliding under the radar or looking for cracks to exploit in the women’s alliance is not smart gameplay.

His strategy to save himself was a bad and flawed strategy.

Kellie’s stock in the game rose significantly tonight. She seems to be the lynch pin at Lulu.

Dee and Julie showed they are the ones in control at Reba. They are carefully examining all the angles there.

By playing his advantages well, disclosing the advantage to Emily and Drew to solidify trust and giving ground at the journey Drew did very well for himself tonight.
