The Survivor Gods deliver their own brand of justice. It often stings right to the bone. Ron Clark was as sneaky as a Venus flytrap. He admitted bringing Gavin Whitson on the family reward not to give him a real honeymoon but to reel him in. He gave Rick Devens what amounted to a useless and expired power in an attempt to bamboozle him. These moves should be no surprise to viewers though as Ron has played a sly and unscrupulous game since the start.

If you live by the sword odds are you will die by the sword and Ron, the conniver got swindled at Tribal Council. Armed with an extra vote Aurora McCreary gave him, Gavin repaid Ron by casting two votes against him. Lauren O’Connell’s vote for Ron and Rick playing his Hidden Immunity Idol aligned to send Ron to Extinction Island where his reception was less than kind.

Although he slipped by this week I wouldn’t be placing any bets on Rick. No allies plus no idols equals very little chance of surviving much longer. The target on Rick’s back hasn’t diminished it just got redirected for an episode. If the news anchor and producer doesn’t find an idol or some super Survivor power you can pull the plug on him.

The Survivor to watch going forward is Aurora. Aurora is as slippery as an eel. Week after week she finds some way to make it through, to extend her stay even though many cite her as a clear and present danger. Will Aurora and Rick’s luck eventually run out? Stay tuned.

Week 11: Ron Clark

Chances are if you think you are running the Survivor game, you really, really aren’t. Ron got caught up in the grand delusion that he was some sort of puppet master pulling the strings of his tribemates. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Strategic Gameplay

He wielded some power and some influence when the Kama Six Alliance was a thing. When that blew up, Ron saw his sway falter except with Julie who took him back after he betrayed her.

Rating: 2.5 / 5

Social Gameplay

Most didn’t trust Ron. Most knew they would have to turn on Ron. Ron also backstabbed people when he really didn’t have to.

Rating: 2 / 5

Entertainment Value

Witnessing Ron’s fall from grace was amusing and predictable. He never rose to that Richard Hatch or Jonny Fairplay level of villain though.

Rating: 2 / 5

Final Castaway Rating: 6.5 / 15

She doesn’t seem to have any back-up plan.
