Matt Hardeman, the 25-year-old tech sales representative from Georgia, has the unfortunate distinction of being the first houseguest evicted this season.

Matt was sent packing over Kenney by a vote of 8 to 3 with Leah, Lisa and Makensy being the only votes for him to stay.

Matt and Kenney were beaten by Kimo in the first-ever AI Arena Competition. As the winner, Kimo was no longer on the block.

Makensy, who had gotten close to Matt during his time in the house, was visibly upset when host Julie Chen Moonves read the vote.

“I told her our story is not over,” said Matt explaining to Moonves what he whispered in Makensy’s ear before he left the house.

When asked about why Angela had it in for him Matt was still very confused as to why he was on her hit list.

“I did not agree with how she treated me and what she said. It was difficult,” said Matt believing he would “learn and grow” from his experience in the house.
